In addition to many other stability and functionality improvements the following changes are in this update:

1) Auto-Save 

--    The Auto-Save prompt now uses a single dialog to inform you if multiple documents need to be saved

--	Changing an Auto-Save time interval to an already elapsed time did not trigger a save and restart of the timer (Mac)

--	The Ask Before Auto-Save Dialog no longer cuts off long file names (Mac)

--	The Auto-Save no longer saves the Title page as a separate document when changes are made to it (Win)


2) CollaboWriter 

--	Now when reformatting elements via CollaboWriter, the changes are reflected for the non-host users

--	Now when replacing misspelled words, the changes are reflected correctly for the host and non-host users

--	The Return/Enter keys are now interpreted correctly in Mac/Win CollaboWriter sessions (Mac)

--	Creating new lines with Return/Enter no longer causes the program to hang between Mac/Win CollaboWriter sessions (Mac)

--	Program no longer hangs when doing a 'replace all' in a Mac/Win CollaboWriter session (Mac)

--	The program no longer crashes when auto character CONT’Ds are on in a CollaboWriter session (Mac)

--	Pressing Enter no longer reformats text in CollaboWriter sessions (Mac)

--	The program no longer crashes when using macros in CollaboWriter sessions (Mac)

--	Scripts no longer display a drawing problem during CollaboWriter sessions when the non-host initially receives the script (Win)

--	Control of a script is now automatically transferred when the control guest disconnects from a CollaboWriter session (Win)


3) Drag and Drop 

--	The Smart Drag and Drop now correctly maintains the integrity of the element being moved and doesn't merge it with the element it now follows

--	An 'Undo' after Drag and Drop in dual Script panels now correctly updates the drop pane 

--	The program no longer crashes when dragging and dropping a ScriptNote (Win)


4) Drawing 

--	The cursor no longer flashes when holding down the Page Up/Down key (Win)

--	The Up/Down Arrow keys no longer cause drawing problems when auto scrolling (Win)


5) File > E-mail 


--	File > Email now prompts the user to save the script if unsaved changes have been made before emailing (Mac)

--	Now, using File > Email menu option launches the default email program if using Mac Mail or MS Entourage (Mac)

--	Now, using File > Email will attach the script in Mac Mail and MS Entourage (Mac)

--	Now, using File > Email is disabled if the default client is not Mail or Entourage (Mac)

--	The File > Email option is now disabled if no saved script is open (Win)


6) File opening 

--	One can now drop .RTF or .TXT files onto the Final Draft alias (shortcut) (Mac)

--	Now, double-clicking files if program is already running will open files (Win)

--	Dragging a file onto the application shortcut or double clicking Final Draft files from a CD will now open the files (Win)


7) File saving 

--	Cancelling out of the Save As dialogue no longer closes the document (Mac)

--	The program no longer presents an ‘Error -5000’ message when attempting to save over the ‘Out4Life’ script in the Tutorial folder (Mac)


8) File Vault 

--	The program no longer crashes on startup when the OS FileVault is turned on (Mac)


9) Find 

--	The Find will now search through or ignore elements as specified (Win)


10) Importing files 

--	The text file import process has improved speed


11) Index Cards 

--	You can now 'Undo' after changing a scene heading in Index Cards

--	You can now add a new index card and select undo to remove it

--	Page Down while in the Index Card Summary view now keeps the cursor completely in view


12) Insertion/Selection 

--	The Tab key now auto-scrolls the page even when the insertion point (cursor) is not in view

--	You can now select text with Ctrl/Command-Shift-Up/Down Arrow keys

--	You can now select text using the following keyboard combinations: 
	Shift + Control/Command + Right/Left Arrow keys
	Shift+Ctrl/Command+Home/End keys
	Shift Home/End
	Shift Page Up/Page Down

--	Page up/Page Down keys now corresponds to whatever scroll position you are in the script
 
--	Shift-Page Up/Down now properly observes the anchor point of the cursor

--	You can now use Shift-Option-Right/Left Arrow to select one or more words of text (Mac)

--	You can now use Shift-Option-Up/Down Arrow to select one or more words of text (Mac)

--	You can now select text using the following keyboard combinations: (Mac)
	Option + Left/Right Arrow
	Option + Up Arrow/Down Arrow
	Shift + Option + Right/Left Arrow
	Shift + Option + Up/Down Arrow


13) Pagination 

--	Script pages that begin with new elements (Dialog, Character, Action, etc.) no longer include an extra line prior to the element. This correction to pagination will cause most scripts to be slightly shorter


14) Performance 

--	Inactive Cast Lists no longer cause CPU processing to spike during idle time (Win)


15) Reformat 

--	Now when reformatting elements, changing elements to a parenthetical no longer prevents the next element from being highlighted (Mac)


16) SmartType 

--	The right arrow now accepts suggestions on auto-character guesses

--	The right arrow now selects SmartType suggestions

--	The SmartType window now provides all the correct filtering for Character names when the user enters part of a name

--	SmartType preferences will now save properly once the program is closed (Mac)


17) Title Page 

--	Changes made to Title Page now cause the “save” function to appear when the program is closed (Win)


18) Toolbar 

--	The Toolbar will now be visible upon re-launch if not explicitly hidden prior to closing the program (Mac)


19) Undo 

--	The program now properly handles an undo after Drag and Drop of elements (Mac)


20) Other -

--	Changing the margins on a script will now cause the save dialog to display if you attempt to close the program without saving

--     Ignore Word command in context (Control+click) menu no longer crashes program (Mac)

--     Changing foreign-language spell-checkers are now effective immediately

--     Faster spelling rescan when a different spell-checker is activated (Win)

--     Improved spell checking functionality
 

13)  Tagger

--     Tagger’s scene page length calculations are accurate to +/- 1/8 of page


14)  Templates

--     French, Spanish and German screenplay templates are now part of the program, under the File/New/Screenplay menu

1) Save As PDF

--    This has been redesigned so that Final Draft scripts saved as PDF files are much smaller in size  

--    The PDF files are also searchable (via Adobe Acrobat Reader), like other text-based PDF files


2) Save Title Page with PDF

--    There is an option to include the title page when saving a script as a PDF file with default set to enabled


3) Normal View

--    This view has been re-implemented


4) Speed View

--    This view has been re-implemented


5) The View menu

--    This menu has been re-designed for clarity and ease of use
 

6) Tagger

--    The scene length calculations generated by Final Draft and Final Draft Tagger are now in sync 


7) Auto-Save 

--    The default is now set to enabled and the user is prompted with checkboxes for Auto-Save preferences.  

--    Autosave frequency is now more editable; the user can enter any number of minutes
 

8) Auto-Backup 

--    The default number of stored backup scripts has been increased from 10 to 50
 

9) Format Assistant 

--    This feature’s on, off and popup settings have been redesigned to give the user greater control over when Format Assistant appears 


10) File > Save Secure Copy

--    This command has been removed from the File Menu and placed on the list of alternative “File/Save As” file types


11) User Interface (UI) 

--    Various dialogue boxes have been improved for clarity and ease of use
